• Indoor Tips: Check for plumbing leaks and seal off gaps around plumbing pipes behind cabinetry. Don't let water accumulate in or around your home.
Check Grout around bathtubs and toilets. A good caulk seal will assure small insects such as silverfish and ants cannot enter these locations.
• Outdoor Tips: Seal around conduits and piping where it enters the structure. Many insects and rodents follow power lines or climb conduits and pipes to gain access to your home.
Keep the garage door closed and make sure that the weather stripping along the base of the door is in good repair.

Termite Control
A Revolutionary Way to Protect Your Home
Termites have been going after your home for years. Now the Sentricon® System lets you go after their home – the colony. Colony elimination is a completely new way to deal with termites. And only Sentricon® can achieve it. The Sentricon® System is one of the best approaches for protecting structures from subterranean termites because it eliminates the colony, while being non-disruptive to property owners. The Sentricon® System is proven, long-term protection against termite damage.
How the Sentricon® System Works
The Sentricon® System takes advantage of natural termite behavior. Worker termites constantly forage far and wide, looking for wood to feed the colony. When they find food, like the monitoring device in the Sentricon® station, they leave special scent trails to summon their nest-mates to the food source. Once your authorized pest control professional discovers termites feeding in the station, the monitoring device is replaced with a Baitube® device containing Recruit® termite bait. In doing so, the technician initiates the exclusive Self-Recruitment procedure that takes advantage of the natural behavior of termites to spread the bait throughout the colony. The bait contains a substance that stops the molting process so termites cant grow. In time, all the termites in the colony will be affected by the bait and die.
Aiken Pest Control, Inc. also offers Termidor®, the most effective liquid termicide available today. Only Termidor® Certified Professionals can apply this unique treatment program. Since Termidor® went on the market in March 2000, more than 700,000 homes have been treated with it and the results continue to be remarkable.
How Termidor® Works
Termidor® combines a unique mode of action, unmatched control, a long residual and the ability to manage colonies fast. Once the termite has ingested or contacted Termidor® treated material with its body, it becomes a "carrier." Every termite it contacts will be infected and will in turn infect every termite it contacts. Termidor® is slow acting, which allows termites to come into contact with many others before dying themselves. This unique mode of action allows for large numbers of termites to be killed and overall colony management that is fast and effective.
