Some scientists have discovered that a female mosquito can detect particular human chemical markers that she can sense from up to 115 feet away. They have also found that people with blood type O are twice as likely to be bothered by mosquitoes. Other attractants are carbon dioxide, heat, sweat, skin bacteria, and dark clothing.
So, you will need to determine if either of these is the case with your property. If your property has even the smallest amount of water for them to breed in or the types of plants that hold drops of water, then your property is at risk. If you spend a lot of time outdoors with your family during the evenings, then you could very well become a mosquito target.
